Technology is incredible. Technology saves lives, allows us to stay connected and, in this case, allows for personalization. Dynamic landing pages are somewhat newer, but they are changing the world of marketing automation nonetheless. SharpSpring has taken dynamic landing pages on step further, allowing anyone to create a dynamic landing page, not just coders. Curious about how these new landing pages work? We’ll walk you through the process!
Building a landing page, especially for us less technically inclined folks, can be rough. Previously, if you didn’t know how to code, you couldn’t create a landing page. Now, however, just about anyone can build a landing page off a template, no coding required. SharpSpring released their landing page builder in June, which we suggest reading about before continuing on. Now that you’re all caught up, let’s understand the facts:
Got it? Good. Now let’s examine the process from start to finish and really understand how we can create our own dynamic landing pages.
The beauty of dynamic landing pages is the ability to personalize one landing page to multiple visitors. But how do you know what to personalize? You customize based on existing data in SharpSpring. Using this data, you can change your text, CTAs and images to be most relevant to your visitors. To do so will require a little bit of legwork.
Before you get to customizing, you’ll need to set rules that will tell the landing page when to use a certain filter. There are three types of rules that you’ll need to utilize:
Once you have created these rules, you can create rule groups. These are groups of people that fall into the same category. Going with the example above, anyone that has a lead score equal to 75 would go in one group, we’ll call it “high scores.” You could create another rule group named “fun” made up of people who marked their interests as adventure. Still with me? We’re just about done with the hard part!
With the rules in place, go to your landing page and click on the edit content button and start clicking on different sections of the page. If it can be made dynamic, the lightning bolt on the left sidebar will turn pink. Header, paragraph and image boxes can all be made dynamic. If you want to change the header to say, “Make Noise in the Forest!” for your “high scores” rule group, you just need to click on that group and start making the changes. As you click on the different groups, you’ll be able to make changes for each group. Don’t worry, the changes you make for “high scores” won’t be saved under the “fun” group.
After you’ve made all your variations, you can click on the “preview segment” button to view all the changes made for each group. If you want to further customize, simply exit out of the preview and go back to work. See, it’s not that bad!
If you are feeling a little overwhelmed or confused, head on over to SharpSpring’s support page and they’ll be able to help you with dynamic landing pages. This is an awesome feature and great opportunity to maximize conversions. We highly suggest at least looking into it!
