Account managers reports directly to the Vice President of Operations for the activity and status of accounts and transactions. An account manager will manage multiple accounts, though that number will vary depending on the requirements of the company. This is a frontline, client-facing position. Responsibilities are as follows:

  • Develop and deliver senior-level marketing strategy and tactics to C-Suite level clients, derived from industry insights and category expertise. Strategizing with production team to establish a plan for each account, complete with goals and deadlines.
  • Collaborate with both clients and internal teams to guide and contribute in the development of creative ideas and deliverables.
  • Be well versed in the various marketing opportunities in social, digital, and print, web, and broader marketing mix, to provide client recommendations on the proper KPIs, based on brand-specific goals. A working knowledge of Search Engine, Web, and Social Media marketing is essential.
  • Creating a portfolio of client accounts and monitoring the ongoing activities related to them.
  • Conducting meetings with the clients as well as informing them about the current work status of their projects. Managing, reviewing progress and delivering the client’s “big ticket” projects. Traffic management will handle the day-to-day project updates.
  • Identifying accounts whose revenue may be shrinking so as to address any ‘at risk’ customers and reach out to these accounts to ensure they are retained.
  • Identify new sales opportunities within existing accounts to retain a client-account manager relationship by up-selling and cross-selling.
  • Manage and solve conflicts with clients. The Account Manager is expected to have specific information regarding daily operations of the production and keep the client updated.
  • Interact and coordinate with the sales team and other staff members in other departments working on the same account.
  • Meet time deadlines for accounts.
  • Responsible for assignments centered around operational and internal initiatives, as provided by the Leadership team.

Website Project Management

  • Review deliverables provided by account managers
  • Organize the website project in our project management system
  • Organize internal and external resources, and assign tasks accordingly
  • Communicate with the client on a regular basis for:
    • Status updates
    • Gathering assets, including content and images
    • Presenting designs and progress updates
    • Scope and budget updates
  • Communicate with the internal team, including:
    • Account manager with budgeting and project scope issues
    • Internal web design and development resources on scheduling and project plans
    • Art director with design questions
    • Copywriter with content delivery and questions
  • Identify project issues and solve problems with delivery, budget and scope

Skills and Qualities

  • Strong marketing strategy background.
  • Strong technical skills – ability to master Project Management software.
  • Good leadership qualities.
  • Energy, enthusiasm and the ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines and demanding targets.
  • Strong deal closing and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to juggle multiple clients and projects concurrently.
  • High level of analytical and organizational skills, and excellent attention to detail.
  • Real understanding of print, web, digital marketing products and opportunities.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Creativity, initiative combined with commercial awareness.

Salary & Compensation

  • Base pay commensurate with experience.
  • 10%, one-time commission on any upsell of existing client.
